HMC bomb threat cleared

By the Hays Daily News

While most of the area's law enforcement stayed focused on the standoff at a Nex-Tech office at 12th and Pine streets Friday, some were called away for what apparently was a bomb hoax at Hays Medical Center.

Ellis County Sheriff Ed Harbin said the bomb threat was called in about 6:30 p.m. Friday. Visitors were cleared from the hosptial and no one — not even arriving doctors — was allowed into the facility. Patients were not evacuated.

At about 7:45 p.m., officers cleared the scene and reopened the doors.
