Hilda Miller

Hilda Miller, 93, Phillipsburg, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Phillips County Retirement Center, Phillipsburg.

She was born May 3, 1916, in Phillips County to Henry and Kathrine (Krafft) Merklein.

She married Ellsworth "Mike" Miller on June 2, 1937, in Stuttgart. He preceded her in death May 9, 1998. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Eldon "Butch" Miller, Stuttgart, and Lannie Miller, Lake View, Iowa; a daughter, Shirley Vanderplas, Phillipsburg; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stuttgart; burial in Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Stuttgart.

Visitation will be until 9 p.m. today, with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.

Memorials are suggested to the church, hospice services or Phillips County Retirement Center in care of the funeral home.
