James B. Claggett

James B. Claggett, 83, Charlotte, N.C., died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009.

He was born May 4, 1926, in Smith County to William Thomas and Chrissie Daisy Claggett.

He worked for University of Denver as head of maintenance for student housing in Denver for 25 years before retiring. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie L. Claggett, Charlotte; a daughter, Kimberley K. Poalillo, Charlotte; a sister, Georgia M. Hampton, Denver; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg; inurnment in Bogart Cemetery, Phillips County, with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Concord First Assembly, Missions Department, Concord, N.C., in care of the funeral home.
