John 'Jack' William Rundle
John "Jack" William Rundle, 88, Logan, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Logan Manor, Logan.
He was born Feb. 28, 1922, in rural Logan to Willam M. and Sarah Jeanette (O'Connell) Rundle.
He married Sylvia Wood on Aug. 19, 1947, in Logan. She preceded him in death in 1989. He later married Rachel Krauss-Morris on Jan. 5, 1991, in Logan. He was a farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; six sons, John and David, both of Wichita, Tim, Washington, Kan., Thomas Michael, Lawrence, Leland, Logan, and James, McPherson; two daughters, Shirley Mendoza, Phillipsburg, and Kathleen Brewster, Kansas City, Kan.; two stepsons, Jim Morris, Logan, and Dilman Morris, Garden Plains; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church, Logan; burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan, with military honors by Ralph DeFors American Legion Post No. 281 and Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today and Monday, with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, both at Logan Funeral Home.
A rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Ralph DeFors American Legion Post No. 281, The Sunny Side 4-H Club, the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation, and Clyde E. Berger Memorial Library at the Timbers Homes, Wichita.
