ABILENE, Kan. (AP) -- Dickinson County authorities say a Junction City man tried to find someone to kill two people who were witnesses in a case against him.
Dickinson County Sheriff Gareth Hoffman says his department was told in January that the inmate was trying to find someone to kill two witnesses in a case against him.
The suspect, 23-year-old Alan Michael Reed, was in the Dickinson County Jail on charges of aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
Reed was charged Thursday with one count of solicitation to commit first-degree murder. He remained in jail on $500,000 bond.
Hoffman says the investigation continues but no more arrests are expected. The two people targeted in the alleged plot were not injured.
