Tigers picked eighth in MIAA football poll

By The Hays Daily News

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Fort Hays State University football team was picked eighth by the coaches and the media in the MIAA preseason poll, released Monday morning.

Fort Hays, coming off a 5-6 overall (4-6 MIAA) campaign in 2012, is picked just above where it finished. The Tigers tied for ninth in the conference a year ago. Week 1 opponent Emporia State University (Sept. 5) was picked to finish seventh in both polls.

In the coaches poll, Missouri Western State University and Northwest Missouri State University were tied at the top, while the Bearcats secured the top spot in the media poll. For more, see Tuesday's Hays Daily News.
