Trio creates perfect environment

The renovation took nearly two months to complete and plenty of blood, sweat and tears along the way.

But the hard work has paid off for Sarah Thyfault Fleenor, Sarah Morgan Fleenor and Dax McLoughlin, who opened the doors to their new expanded skin care day spa Sept. 1.

"It was a long two months of renovating," Thyfault Fleenor said. "And lack of sleep -- sleeping here on the floor."

Located at 3007 Hall, Rejuvenations offers a variety of services, including waxing, bridal makeup, permanent makeup, massage and microdermabrasion.

Besides the three part-owners, who are certified estheticians, Dr. Ann Taylor and registered nurse Kathy Thompson offer the medical spa services.

The business got its start about 2 1/2 years ago, when both Sarah Fleenors were looking for a new venture. The two women married men who were first cousins and became fast friends.

Rejuvenations originally was located a few doors down in the same office complex, and the owners were able to expand services after the move, which almost doubled their amount of usable space. At that time, McLoughlin, who offers permanent makeup services, was brought in as a part-owner.

Another new addition was the inclusion of couple's spa packages. Bridal makeup facials also are popular, and both Fleenors offer their services statewide.

Local bridal parties, however, get extra special treatment. They can book the entire facility, bring their own hair stylists and even enjoy a homemade brunch, Morgan Fleenor said.

All five providers respect patient confidentiality, and both scheduling and the building's new floor plan help ensure clients get the privacy they desire, McLoughlin said.

"Out of everything, for me, that is the best thing that makes us compete with other places," she said.

And now that the grunt work is done, the staff and clients are able to enjoy the spa's new decor. The idea was to create an environment that feels comfortable and welcoming, Morgan Fleenor said.

"To us, the building was just as important as doing makeup on somebody's face for their wedding day," she said. "Aesthetically, it needs to look perfect, because that's what our job is."
