Rosa Irene Elsasser

Rosa Irene Elsasser, 95, Russell, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 at Great Bend Regional Hospital.

She was born Dec. 3, 1913, at Wheatland Township in Barton County to J.P. and Kathrina (Schneider) Ochs.

She married Alvin Elsasser on Nov. 1, 1936, in Russell. He preceded her in death June 2, 1995. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Allen Elsasser, San Antonio, and Harlan Elsasser, Heyburn, Idaho; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great- grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Machin, on Jan. 27, 1995, and a grandchild.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary Chapel, Russell; burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Russell.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Russell Regional Hospital in care of the mortuary.
