Rosaline 'Rose' (Hoffman) Clark

Rosaline "Rose" (Hoffman) Clark, 78, Hays, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born May 2, 1935, in Hays to Nick and Odelia "Tillie" (Dreiling) Hoffman. She was a 1953 graduate of Girl's Catholic High School and a graduate of the School for Bank Administration at the University of Wisconsin.

She married Gerald Gottschalk on May 7, 1955. He preceded her in death March 5, 1975. She later married Keith Clark. She worked at First National Bank, which later became Emprise Bank for 45 years, retiring as vice president of Emprise Bank.

She was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church and was active in the Thomas More Prep-Marian Alumni Association.

She enjoyed spending time with her quilt club and making quilts, cooking for her family, donated many quilts to Humane Society of the High Plains, and enjoyed dancing and spending time with her children, grandchildren and many other friends and family.

Survivors include her husband, of the home in Hays; a son, Mike Gottschalk and wife, Lori, Hays; two daughters, Debbie Howard and husband, Gary, and Sue Gottschalk, all of Hays; a stepson, Cam Clark and wife, Esther, Wichita; three stepdaughters, Crista Dorsey and husband, Floyd, Emporia, Jan Miller and husband, Mike, Kansas City, and Stacy Driver and husband, Kenton, Salina; three sisters, Rita Gottschalk and husband, LeRoy, and Marjorie Schumacher, all of Hays, and Pauline Moore, Overland Park; a sister-in-law, Jane Meyer, Wichita; two grandchildren, Rachel Gottschalk, Milwaukee, and Cole Gottschalk, Hays; 11 step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Nicholas Hoffman Jr.; a brother-in-law, Gary Moore; and a great-nephew, Kaden Gottschalk.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine.

A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
