SHPTV art auction will be in Russell

BUNKER HILL -- Many Kansas artists have donated their work to the Smoky Hills Public Television Signature Auction. To preview all 100 pieces including paintings, sculptures, jewelry, mixed media and more, the art gallery will be open from March 30 to April 17.

Hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m. p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

There will be a gallery reception at from 2 to 4 p.m. April 14 at the Deines Cultural Center in Russell. Hors d'oeuvres will be provided, and the event is open to the public.

The live auction will be broadcast from 7 to 10 p.m. April 20 and 21 on Smoky Hills Public Television. The art pieces also are available for viewing on the station's website,

Viewers can vote for their favorite piece of art, and the artist will receive the "People's Choice Award." Votes can be submitted by email to or by mail to P.O. Box 9, Bunker Hill KS, 67626.
