Emery and Shirley Schmidt

Emery and Shirley Schmidt, Catherine, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary today with a Mass, followed by a family dinner hosted by their children.

Children of the couple are Greg Schmidt and wife, Pam, Mike Schmidt and wife, Ann, and Lisa Stouffer and husband, Allen, all of Catherine, and Jackie Jones and husband, Tim, Hays.

The couple have 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Emery Schmidt and Shirley Pfeifer were married Oct. 10, 1959, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays.
