Dismayed
I read with dismay as Randy and Jane Harder from Haven questioned Congressman Todd Tiahrt's personal integrity in their letter to the editor published in papers across the state. It is unfortunate that Mr. and Mrs. Harder did not disclose their son, Brandon, is currently dating Congressman Jerry Moran's daughter, Kelsey. Brandon is also very involved in the Moran campaign. I go to K-State with both Brandon and Kelsey.
Unfortunately, these personal attacks are par for the course for Jerry Moran, a lawyer, and his new campaign team of high-profile lawyers that he installed after a senior staff shakeup in his campaign.
Moran's floundering campaign has resorted to personal attacks on Todd and Vicki Tiahrt based on their private family matters. Many people may not know this, but Todd and Vicki Tiahrt tragically lost their youngest son a few years ago. If Jerry Moran will attack Todd and Vicki's parenting decisions after this tragedy, what will he not do?
It is understandable that Jerry Moran and the Harders in Haven do not want to talk about Moran's record of voting for tax increases, constitutional rights for Islamic terrorists, and benefits for illegal immigrants. I would hope they would at least have the decency to leave Todd's family out of the race.
