Extension offers sprayer course

Special to the HDN

There are lots of choices for spray nozzles, and it can depend on what type of pesticide you are spraying for the correct nozzle and particle size.

At a seminar Feb. 13 at the Ellis County Extension office, 610 Main, learn how to better reduce spray drift and how to improve spraying applications, which can save you money and headaches from having to re-spray.

Coffee and rolls start at 8:30 a.m., and the program begins at 9 a.m. It will conclude at noon. There is a $10 registration fee due by noon Monday.

Register by calling (785) 628-9430 or emailing tam3@ksu.edu.

Robert Klein, University of Nebraska-Lincoln crop specialist, will be the presenter. He has many years of practical experience with sprayers and nozzles to share and a straightforward and down-to-earth presentation style.

Topics for the workshop will be calibration of sprayers, spray nozzle selection (nozzle kits for each of the participants to use), spray particle sizes, label laws, efficacy and spray drift management, and pesticide application.

Continuing education credits are available for commercial applicators.
