Police: Bar's 'suspension' was false

A sign posted on the door of Chuck's, 507 W. Seventh, on Saturday morning, stating that its liquor license had been suspended by the state for 30 days for serving alcoholic beverages to a minor was found to be a hoax.

According to Hays Police Department Lt. Ron Rounkles, the Hays Alcohol and Beverage Control officer was contacted Saturday morning regarding the posting of the sign. It was determined the sign was a prank, hoax or a personal vendetta.

Attempts to contact the owner of Chuck's were unsuccessful.
