The Hub Bicycle Shop, 803 Fort, was broken into at midnight. According to Assistant Police Chief Philip Hartsfield, a brick was thrown through the front window, entry was gained and cash was taken. It is not yet known how much cash was taken, but there is a key suspect in the break-in. The suspect sustained injuries while entering the building, he said. "The individual injured himself going through the glass window," Hartsfield said. "Officers identified blood ... at the crime scene and proceeded to investigate at HMC to see if anyone had gone to the emergency room with a similar injury." Small pieces of scalp also were identified at the crime scene, he said. An individual with such injuries was located at Hays Medical Center and escorted to the law enforcement center. "The investigation still is continuing, but he's a pretty solid suspect," Hartsfield said. "We had some good work by the officers, putting two and two together and doing some good follow-up in the middle of the night."
