Items now accepted for annual coat drive

Master Cleaners is teaming up with local businesses and schools to host the 11th annual coat drive Saturday.

Coats are being accepted at both Master Cleaners locations, Top Notch Cleaners, any school in Hays and either McDonald's location until Friday.

The coats will be distributed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Eighth Street location of Master Cleaners and Top Notch Cleaners.

According to Master Cleaners manager Ryan Gottschalk, the drive took in more than 2,000 coats last year.

"Probably 85 percent got picked up," Gottschalk said.

He said last year was a down year in the number of coats collected, but this year is looking better.

"This year we've taken in more than we had at this time last year," Gottschalk said.
