FHSU golfers win tournament in Missouri

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Fort Hays State University men's golf team won the Pasta House Invitational hosted by Drury (Mo.) University at Rivercut Golf Course. The Tigers were in fifth place after the first day of the tournament, nine strokes back of Southwest Baptist (Mo.) University. On Day 1, FHSU shot a 312 before firing a 297 on Day 2, the best round of the year for the Tigers, the only team to break 300 at the tournament. FHSU finished with a 609 followed by SBU with 610. Drury was third at 615. Junior Nick Hauge led the Tigers with an even-par 72 on the second day and shot a four-over-par for the tournament.
The Tiger women's golf team competed in the Pepsi Lion Invitational in Pottsboro, Texas, hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce. Fort Hays State finished 15th in the team standings with a two-round total of 726.
Angelo State won the event with a team total of 631. Sophomore Kiley Johansen paced the Tigers, tying for 26th with a 170.
