HHS boys win Great Bend meet

GREAT BEND -- The Hays High School boys' swimming team won the Great Bend Invitational on Tuesday with 316 points.

Senior Connor Hess posted a qualifying time in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of one minute, 5.94 seconds.

Senior Blake Mathews won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:57.70 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:37.22, and senior Derek Drees won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.11 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly in 59.46 seconds.

Great Bend was second with 285 points.
