Junior Legion loses Saturday night

PITTSBURG -- The Hays Junior Legion baseball team lost 11-4 to Shawnee Mission in a winners' bracket game Saturday night at the Class A state tournament.

Hays starter Trevor Henningsen didn't make out of the second inning, allowing seven runs. Shawnee Mission added a run in the fourth, two in the fifth and another in the sixth in a 16-hit attack.

Hays (24-14), was held to four hits. The Eagles scored three runs in the fifth and a single run in the sixth.

Hays returns to action Sunday at 10 a.m. in an elimination game.
