Christian rock band Third Day will perform Saturday at Fort Hays State University's Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center, with group members delivering an intimate view of their music and journey together as a band.

The concert is slated for 7 p.m. Saturday. A performance at the Oakley High School auditorium will be at 7 p.m. Sunday. Doors open each night at 6 p.m.

"They're billing it as an evening with Third Day and encouraging folks to come out and to get more of a deeper insight into them as a band and also into their songs," said KPRD Manager Dave Kumer. "They're expecting to tell a lot of stories as a band, and also the stories behind their songs."

In anticipation of its Miracle Tour, which launches Feb. 21 in Fairfax, Va., Third Day will perform some of its hits and new music from its latest album, Miracle. Winner of four Grammies, 24 GMA Dove awards, one Recording Industry Association of America platinum album and eight RIAA gold albums, some of the Georgia-based band's most popular hits include "Show Me Your Glory," "I Believe" and "Cry Out to Jesus."

It's been several years since KPRD on-air host Dawn Rickerson caught a live performance of Third Day at a music festival in Illinois, but the event was memorable.

"From what I saw, they honestly are really focused on sharing Christ and sharing their stories with others," she said. "They're very much interested in other people and not just being the center of the stage.

"They might be up on the stage, but it's not all about them."

Advance tickets for the concert are $23 and are available at KPRD Praise Radio, Hadley Center, 205 E. Seventh, Ste. 218, or online at kprd.org. Tickets purchased in groups of 10 or more are $20 each. Tickets at the door, if available, will be $25.
