Florence R. Burton

Florence R. Burton, 94, Hill City, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Graham County Hospital, Hill City.

She was born Nov. 30, 1917, in Damar to Edmund and Jennie May (Pickenpaugh) Jones.

She married Farrel L. Burton on Dec. 24, 1937, in Hill City. He preceded her in death Jan. 5, 2008.

She was a homemaker and cook.

Survivors include a son, Gary Lee Burton, WaKeeney; two daughters, Rea Paxson and Jan Bell, both of Penokee; a sister, Fern King, Hill City; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Paxson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City; burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Hill City.

Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday, both at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Hill City United Methodist Church or Dawson Place Nursing Home.
