Mary Helen Grohusky
Mary Helen Grohusky, 86, Kansas City, Kan., died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center.
She was born Nov. 23, 1924, to Daniel and Helen Thompson. She grew up in Muncie and graduated from Bishop Ward High School.
She married James E. Grohusky on Aug. 29, 1944. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, James Grohusky Jr. and wife, Helen, and their children, Gretchen, Lisa and Jamie, all from the Kansas City area; a daughter, Judy Dawson and husband, Gene, and their children, Brett, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Brian, Hays, and Cari Rohleder, Hays; a sister, Betty Palumbo Winski, Leawood; and grandchildren, Brendan Grohusky, Kansas City, Kan., and Alison, Heidi and Tim. She was a great-grandmother to 15 great-grandchildren and an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George; a sister, Peggy; a son, Frank Grohusky and wife, Sherry, and their daughter, April; and another son, Gregory Grohusky.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Church, Kansas City, Kan.
