Monarchs win short dual

ELLIS -- The Thomas More Prep-Marian wrestling team captured a 35-30 victory Thursday against Ellis in a short dual.

Both teams were open at 120 pounds and 285 pounds, and only four matches were wrestled.

TMP senior Dylan Schumacher defeated Ellis' Jared Pfeifer at 126 pounds via technical fall, 17-0, ending the match in the second period.

At 138, Ellis' Landon Younger pinned TMP's Skyler Urban in 1 minute, 20 seconds.

Ellis also picked up a pair of wins at 145 and 152. Gage Younger won at 145, pinning TMP's Austin Werth in the second period. Austin Lopez won at 152, also earning a second-period pin.

In the other match wrestled, Ellis' Skyler Tebo pinned TMP's Nick Schumacher in the second.
