WaKEENEY — Sunday morning’s fog contributed to a crash near WaKeeney.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Mary A. Comer, 49, Colby, was driving a 2016 Jeep Renegade in the left eastbound lane of Interstate 70 about 3.5 miles east of WaKeeney at about 8:12 a.m. when she slowed for traffic.
Her vehicle was struck by a 2016 Nissan Rogue driven by Isaac J. Sandlin, 15, Cullman, Ala. Neither Sandlin nor his two passengers, Tara S. Twilley, 32, and Braxton Sandlin, 10, both of Cullman, Ala., were injured.
Comer and her passenger, Terry A. Comer, 49, Lamar, Colo., were taken to Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital with possible injuries, according to the KHP.
All were wearing safety restraints, according to the KHP report.
