WaKEENEY — A Kansas Department of Transportation driver was taken to the hospital after his vehicle was hit by a semi Tuesday morning.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, James Seth Antrim, 55, Norton, was driving a KDOT vehicle in the eastbound driving lane of Interstate 70 approximately 10 miles west of WaKeeney. The painting crew vehicle was traveling at about 9 mph with flashing caution lights and an arrow board indicating drivers should move to the left.
At about 10 a.m., a 2007 Volvo semi driven by Steve Joseph Glew Jr., 66, Pittsburgh, failed to move to the left and struck the KDOT truck.
Antrim was taken to Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital. Both drivers were wearing safety restraints, according to the KHP.
