GRAINFIELD — An Oakley woman was injured after the trailer she was towing separated from her vehicle Friday afternoon.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Destiny L. Sowers, 21, was westbound on Interstate 70 a half mile west of the junction with Old U.S. Highway 40 just before 4 p.m. when the trailer attached to the 2003 Mercury Mountaineer she was driving began to fishtail.
She lost control of the SUV, according to the report, and the trailer separated from the vehicle. The SUV rolled once and came to rest in the median. The trailer crossed the eastbound lanes and stopped in the east ditch.
Sowers was taken to Logan County Hospital in Oakley. She was wearing a safety restraint, according to the KHP.
