NEW YORK — Abraham Meitner, Hays, will appear in the bright lights of Broadway on Saturday as part of the National Down Syndrome Society’s annual Times Square Video presentation.

The featured photographs highlight children, teens and adults with Down syndrome, reminding the world about the contributions and milestones of people with Down syndrome. The collective images promote the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.

The photo of Meitner, who happens to have Down syndrome, was selected from more than 2,000 entries in the NDSS worldwide call for photos. Approximately 500 photographs will appear in the video, which will be shown in the heart of Times Square.

In the photo, Meitner, 3, is showing his personality with a big grin while swinging. His sister Julia, 13, is also photographed. Abe is the son of Chad and Sarah Meitner, of Hays. Chad is the principal at Thomas More Prep-Marian. In addition to a sister, Abe also has three brothers: Henry, 11, Charlie, 8, and Leo, 6.

The Times Square Video presentation kicks off Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October.
