The Finney County Sheriff's Office and other emergency crews currently are working an accident on U.S. Highway 50 just west of Anderson Road involving a semi that is leaking anhydrous ammonia.

The sheriff's office is recommending that residents who live north of this location stay inside their residences with the windows closed. According to the sheriff's office, the Gartden City Fire Department is advising anyone living south of this location also should shelter in place.

As of about midnight, U.S. 50 westbound is now closed from Campus Street to Big Lowe Road just north of Holcomb. Both eastbound and westbound lanes are closed between Big Lowe Road and VFW Road.
