WICHITA – Two events coming up Oct 21 at Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland’s Starwoods Outdoor Center, 10 minutes southwest of Wichita, will be open to the public.

The Pumpkin Smash & Fall Bash will be a day of fall festival-style activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the center, 7800 S. 103rd St. West, Clearwater. Activities will include hayrack rides, pumpkin painting, face painting, outdoor games, candy stations, pumpkin catapulting and more, according to a press release. The cost is $10 per person at the door. Costumes are encouraged. Guests may bring gently used or new books that will be donated to local nonprofits.

Starwoods will also be the site of the spook-tacular, monster-themed Haunted Stroll from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Oct. 21. This annual Halloween favorite is recommended for second-graders and older, since attendees will be strolling down the haunted trails of Starwoods and meeting scary characters along the way. The cost for Haunted Stroll is $10 per person at the door, the press release said.

All proceeds benefit Kansas Girl Scouts. For more information, go to kansasgirlscouts.org.
