The Global Leadership Project and Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority at Fort Hays State University will host the sixth annual SWIPE Out Hunger event Saturday.
The event will be in Forsyth Library beginning at noon. This year, the 30,000 meals packaged will be sent to Puerto Rico, allowing students to directly help those affected by the recent natural disaster.
At the event, more than 100 volunteers from FHSU and the community of Hays will assemble complete meal packets that, through Numana, a company based in El Dorado, will be sent abroad.
The event is a fun way to make a difference and is free and open to all.
