VICTORIA — Residents are encouraged to make sure their vehicles and garages are locked after several vehicle burglaries were reported by residents. The incidents occurred Thursday night.

While four or fives vehicles were entered, the burglars appeared to be after loose change and cash, with the total value of stolen goods likely less than $30, said Victoria Police Chief Cole Dinkel.

“There was one residence that had a handful of power tools taken,” Dinkel said, noting he was unsure if the tools were in a vehicle or elsewhere on the property.

Residents are asked to call the local police department if they have any information about the case. The burglaries were reported mostly in the southeastern part of town.
