The McPherson Public Library will close on Dec. 6 and 7 for a major computer system upgrade.

The scope of the project includes upgrading the software used for the library catalog, checking items in and out, and cataloging materials. It also encompasses replacing all three network servers, all operations PCs, and almost all of the monitors. Library patrons will appreciate the larger, easier to view monitors, as well as the enhancements to the library catalog.

Fines on overdue library materials will not be assessed on these two days. The project is funded by the McPherson Public Library Capital Improvement Fund and a $12,500 technology grant from the South Central Kansas Library System.
