The Kansas Bureau of Investigation on Saturday evening officially released the names of two individuals killed Thursday afternoon at their home in rural Graham County.
The victims were Efren Mascarenas Sr., 52, and Christin Cantrell, 28, both of Penokee. Both individuals were living at the home where their bodies were found, according to the KBI news release.
Efren Mascarenas Sr. is the father of Efren Mascarenas Jr., 29, who was sought by authorities as a person of interest in the murders. Cantrell was his step-sister.
Mascarenas Jr. led police on a manhunt through the night Thursday, and later was found deceased. A preliminary autopsy revealed he likely died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation is ongoing.
