GOVE — Children on a school bus avoided injury when their bus was hit by a semi Friday on a Gove County Road.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the bus, driven by Pamela M. Love, 56, Gove, was carrying nine children southbound on Gove County Road 54 at approximately 4 p.m. Friday.
Love failed to yield at a stop sign at County Road Z. The bus was struck by a westbound semi driven by Michael P. Petersen, 45, Kensington. The bus came to rest in the east ditch south of Road Z.
The children ranged in age from 4 to 10. Neither driver was injured.
