A former Hays USD 489 paraeducator has been charged in Ellis County district court with attempted unlawful sexual relations involving a teacher with a student 16 or older.
The charges were filed Thursday against Taylor Nicole Rogers and the case is to be prosecuted by Ellis County Attorney Tom Drees. Her first appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 3 with Judge Richard Flax.
The alleged charges are a Level 7, person felony.
According to personnel transactions from Hays USD 489, Rogers’ employment was terminated Jan. 17.
The alleged violation occurred Nov. 1 at a listed address of 1202 E. 32nd in Hays, according to court documents.
The incident was investigated by Hays Police Department.
