SYLVAN — The Thomas More Prep-Marian softball team earned a pair of victories in the Sylvan-Lucas Triangular on Monday, defeating Plainville 16-14 and Sylvan-Lucas 16-3.

Against Plainville, the Monarchs scored five runs in the sixth and four runs in the seventh to open up a seven-run lead. TMP then held off a rally from Plainville in the bottom of the seventh.

TMP (7-3) finished with nine hits while Plainville had 15. Both teams committed four errors.

Emilee Augustin drove in three runs for the Monarchs while Annie Wasinger earned the win in the circle.

The Monarchs cruised in the second game, scoring 15 runs over the first two innings and forcing the run rule in the fifth. Sylvan Lucas committed 11 errors in the game.

Kyleigh Allen earned the win in the circle for TMP. Allen and Brianna Romme each had three hits for TMP.

The Monarchs will play at Ellinwood on Thursday.
