The Hays High baseball team was swept by Andover Central on Tuesday, falling 9-7 and 16-7 on senior day at Indian Field.
In Game 1, the Indians (11-7) trailed 4-3 after two innings before giving up five runs in the fourth. Hays closed the gap after a three-run fifth and later loaded the bases with one out in the seventh but managed just one run out of the opportunity.
Hunter Brown, Cody Petersen and Trey VanPelt each had two hits in the first game. Palmer Hutchison took the loss on the mound, allowing nine runs on nine hits with three walks and three strikeouts in three innings.
In Game 2, the Indians tied it up at 3 in the third on a solo home run from Trey Riggs but proceeded to spot the Jaguars eight runs in the fourth.
Petersen had a three-run homer in the sixth for Hays but took the loss on the mound, giving up 11 runs on eight hits with five walks and three strikeouts.
Petersen, Brown and Dominic Bainter each had two hits in Game 2.
Between games, the Indians honored their six seniors — Brown, Dawson Harman, Cole Murphy, Nick Fisher, Dago Cano and Trey VanPelt.
The Indians will close out the regular season at Valley Center on Friday and then host a Class 4A Division I regional next week.
