Kansas Highway Patrolman Tod Hileman will present a workshop in Hays on May 19, designed to help churches and other institutions deal with an active shooter situation.

Hays Christian Church, 22nd and Marshall, will host the event from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The “Active Shooter Mitigation Training” will teach active shooter awareness, what to expect during an active shooter event, and potential options and considerations to mitigate the threat.

The event is free and open to the public.
