Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom opened May 14 in Hays. Prior to its opening date, the restaurant hosted several soft openings.  During the soft openings, Old Chicago donated 100 percent of the alcoholic beverage sales to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ellis County. Old Chicago also collected donations from guests throughout the pre-opening events.

On Thursday Jeff Daley, director of operations, and Ross Olsbo, general manager, presented BBBS with a check for $10,397.84. “It was a great honor to make a philanthropic commitment to the Hays community,” Daley said.

“We are very grateful for the support of Old Chicago and their commitment to raising awareness of our organization and helping the kids in our community,” said Jenny Bates, director of BBBS of Ellis County.
