OSBORNE — Two motorcyclists were injured when their bikes collided at an intersection Monday just west of Osborne.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Stephen Allen Pfeifer, 54, Stockton, and Timothy Charles Fry, 63, Plainville, were driving the motorcycles just before 10:30 a.m. when they approached the intersection of U.S. 24 and 115th Avenue, where Kevin Craig Saylor, 54, Osborne, was stopped in a 2012 Chevy Silverado at the stop sign.
The truck started to move forward and Pfeifer, assuming the truck was going to enter the road, applied the brakes on his 2007 Harley-Davidson, but was struck from behind by Fry’s 2000 Harley-Davidson.
Both motorcycles skid across U.S. 24 into the north ditch. Pfeifer stayed with his motorcyle. Fry and Stephanie Ann Pfeifer, 52, Stockton, were thrown from the motorcycles.
Stephanie Pfiefer was taken to Osborne County Memorial Hospital. Fry was taken to Hays Medical Center.
