An Ohio woman was arrested at a Hays motel Wednesday morning after she allegedly struck a man with her car and damaged the hood of a police vehicle as she was placed under arrest.
Hays Police were dispatched to the hotel in the 3800 block of Vine at 8:35 a.m. The woman, Marilyn A. Hullinger-Weikle, 60, allegedly struck the man and a parked car in the parking lot.
The man refused treatment at the scene, according to the Hays Police Chief Don Schiebler.
When officers told her she was under arrest, Hullinger-Weikle allegedly used a lighter to scratch the hood of a police car and resisted when an officer placed handcuffs on her, Schiebler said.
The Kansas Highway Patrol assisted by bringing a K-9 unit to the scene. Sixty grams of marijuana were found in the vehicle, Scheibler said.
Hullinger-Weikle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, aggravated domestic battery, criminal damage to property, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with a law enforcement officer.
