The Hays Eagles legion baseball team opened the season with four dominant wins on Friday and Saturday. 

The Eagles run-ruled 316 Elite Holman 12-0 in their season opener on Friday in Buhler as Cody Petersen tossed four shutout innings. Petersen gave up a hit with no walks and struck out six.

Hays, which broke it open with a nine-run fourth, finished with 12 hits. Cole Murphy led the Eagles with three hits.

The Eagles finished the day Friday with a 10-0 win over the Wichita Aeros in Hutchinson. Willie Sennett tossed the shutout, giving up five hits in five innings and striking out a pair. 

Brady Kreutzer went 2-for-2 at the plate for Hays against the Aeros. 

The Eagles took care of Winfield 10-1 on Saturday morning in Buhler. Palmer Hutchison earned the win on the mound, allowing three hits and one run over four innings with six strikeouts and one walk. Hays took advantage of four Winfield errors. 

Hays closed out the day Saturday afternoon with an 11-3 win over The 17-U Aviators in Hutchinson. 

Carson Jacobs started the game for Hays, allowing three runs and one hit while striking out four. Dawson Harman tossed the last 2 2/3 innings for the Eagles without giving up a hit. 

Petersen, Murphy and Braden Stauth each had two hits against the Aviators.
