GREAT BEND — The Hays Larks opened Jayhawk League play with an 11-6 road win over the Great Bend Bat Cats on Tuesday night.

Tyler Blomster (Colorado School of Mines) earned the win in his Larks debut, allowing three runs in 5 2/3 innings.

Jared Martin, Kolby Robinson, Ryne Randle and Cole Solomon each had two hits for the Larks, who improved to 4-1 overall.

Martin gave Hays a 4-2 lead in the second inning with a two-run single and Matt Munoz drove in two more with a single in the fourth inning. The Larks opened up a 10-3 lead in the fifth.

The Larks will play host to Great Bend at 7 p.m. Thursday at Larks Park.
