TMP-Marian announces two new staff members will begin work for the 2018-19 school year.
Chelsie Niehaus has accepted the position of high school English teacher. She grew up in Augusta and attended college at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, graduating with a bachelor of science in secondary English education. For the past five years, she has been working in Hill City.
“I prefer the students take ownership of their learning in the classroom. To achieve this, I do a lot of engaging activities such as project based learning and skits or plays,” Niehaus said in a media release.
Kate Ebbert has accepted the position of junior high/high school social science teacher.
Ebbert recently graduated from the University of Kansas in May with a bachelor of science in secondary education, with an emphasis in history and government.
“I always wanted to be a teacher. My love for history made social studies a natural fit,” Ebbert said.
She grew up in Tonganoxie and said she likes Hays’ friendly atmosphere.
