The Hays Larks stayed in front in the Jayhawk League Standings, completing a weekend sweep of the Haysville Aviators at Larks Park.

The Larks took game two over the Aviators 6-5 on Saturday and then finished off the sweep with a 14-3 win on Sunday.

Hays moved to 19-5 overall and 13-4 in the Jayhawk League.

On Saturday, the Larks trailed 4-3 before plating three in the bottom of the sixth. Easton Kirk and Michael Anastasia had RBI singles and Wyatt Divis scored a wild pitch in the inning. Anastasia and Kolby Robinson each had two hits in the win.

The Larks pounded out 19 hits in Sunday's game, highlighted by Easton Kirk’s third grand slam of the season. Kirk hit the slam in the bottom of the fifth to extend the lead to 12-2.

Ryne Randle went 4-for-5 at the plate for the Larks while Kirk and Hager each had three hits.

Hays starter Tyler Blomster struck out 12 in six innings of work, allowing two runs on four hits.

The Larks recently added two familiar faces to the roster — first baseman/outfielder Jacob Boston (Angelo State) and infielder R.J. Williams (UT-Arlington). Boston played for the Larks the last two summers while Williams was a Lark in 2015.

The Larks will play at Dodge City at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
