WAKEENEY — The Thomas More Prep-Marian volleyball team went 2-0 in a season-opening triangular on Tuesday in WaKeeney.

The Monarchs swept Stockton, 25-8 and 25-18, and Trego, 27-25 and 26-24.

"Against Stockton (we) got into our groove very early and played aggressive volleyball right off the bat," TMP head coach Natausha Dreher said. "Got slightly complacent in the second set but still walked away with the win. First set against Trego, (we) got down 14 to 22 and rallied back to win 27-25. Battled though the match to walk away with the win."

Paris Wolf led the Monarchs with 23 kills while Jillian Lowe had 28 digs.

The Monarchs, who won the Class 3A state championship last year, travel to Abilene for a quadrangular on Thursday.
