DODGE CITY – The Hays High School volleyball team needed just six sets Thursday to start the season 3-0.

The Indians picked up wins against Sublette, Dodge City and Lakin in the Dodge City Invitational.

Hays High cruised to 25-17, 25-8 wins over Sublette. Tasiah Nunnery had 13 kills to lead the way with Hannah McGuire and Brooklyn Schaffer each recording 12 assists and Kallie Leiker eight digs.

Hays High then handled the host with a 25-18, 25-19 victory. Nunnery recorded 11 kills with six assists for McGuire. Leiker led the way with 10 digs.

In the win against Lakin, Nunnery recorded 13 kills, while McGuire had 14 assists and Savannah Schneider seven digs.

The Indians, ranked No. 9 in Class 5A, will be at Valley Center on Saturday.
