A Hays man pleaded not guilty to sexual charges involving minors, and the court will aim to combine trial on those charges with a separate case against him.

Andrew Bayle Claude, 20, pleaded not guilty Monday in Ellis County District Court to criminal sodomy, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated sexual battery.

In July, he pleaded not guilty to three counts of aggravated criminal sodomy of a child under 14 and two counts of rape of a child under the age of 14. That trial is set for four days in February.

Ellis County Attorney Tom Drees told Ellis County District Judge Glenn Braun he planned to file a motion to consolidate the cases and a motion to allow prior bad acts. Drees and defense attorney Cheryl Stewart both said they believed a combined trial could be completed in five days.

Claude remains in custody of the Ellis County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
