PHILLIPSBURG — Phillipsburg cruised past Thomas More Prep-Marian with a 45-0 rout of the Monarchs on Friday, moving to 5-0 on the season. 

Trey Sides rushed for two touchdowns and also threw for a score while Treylan Gross also ran for two touchdowns. 

The Panthers jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and built a 38-0 advantage by halftime, capped off by a 52-yard field goal by standout kicker Jonathan Hunnacutt.

Gross finished with 79 yards rushing and Sides finished with 76 yards on the ground. 

Gross put the Panthers on the board with a 13-yard run before Trey Sides hit Ty Sides for a 42-yard run before Nathan Moon added a 2-yard TD.

Trey Sides then ran for scores of 12 and 56 yards in the second quarter before Hunnacut boomed the field goal. 

Gross had the only touchdown of the second half with a 31-yard run in the third quarter. 

TMP dropped to 1-4 on the season. The Monarchs will play at Norton next Friday while Phillipsburg will be at Ellsworth.
