Today's installment of Throwback Thursday takes us to the 900 block of North Halstead Street. After the Far-Mar-Co (largest in the world) grain elevator was built on Hutchinson's East side, the company expanded it's holdings there. They also constructed the Farmers Coop Commission Laboratory next door in 1964.

This building continued in that capacity until 1982 when it became the Farmland Agriservices Grain Dealers. In 1984, it was the PMS Foods Grain Dealers. After a period of vacancy, it became the Underground Vaults and Storage corporate offices in 1988. Today, the building is still the UVS corporate offices at 906 N. Halstead, with Lee Spence holding down the CEO office there.
